Dear Clients,

As reflected in widespread media coverage, the price of silver has been rising at an alarming rate. In December of 2006 the price was $8.50/oz. Yesterday it briefly hit $14.80/oz and today it fell back to $12.50/oz. In this volatile market, we have been forced to adjust our prices upwards, but we have taken a conservative approach. Our current pricing reflects silver at $12.00/oz.

As you plan, keep in mind that in this volatile market, prices are bound to fluctuate. Be assured that you can always find current, accurate pricing on our website. Simply type the item number into the search field on the top left corner of the page to view current pricing.

Why are silver prices so high? My research points to increased demand in India and China, which has pushed up commodity prices across the board. In addition, the SEC has just provisionally approved an ETF or Electronic Trading Fund for silver. My understanding is that this fund will make it easier for investors to put money into silver, increasing demand and thus putting upward pressure on prices. All indicators imply that these higher prices are here to stay.

I have spent a great deal of time reflecting on the new silver environment. It strikes me that silver is re-emerging as a precious metal after years of little inherent value. Traditionally, people have bought gold jewelry as both an investment and an indulgence. Since gold prices have also risen steeply, it is likely that jewelry stores and consumers will begin look to silver as an alternative to gold. Suddenly, silver looks like a good investment!

I would also like to stress that all of our discounted items are exceptionally good buys at the moment. Some of them were originally priced when silver was $6.00-7.00/oz. Add in 25-60% discounts and you have amazing value.

We appreciate your business and will do everything we can to keep prices as low as possible. At Nina Designs we strive to provide the highest quality products and service. We are committed to using creativity and innovation to bring you inspired jewelry findings. Let's work together to meet the challenges of the new economy! Thank you for your patience and continued support.

Sincerely,
